1: What is Dharma Rakshak?

We all know that Sanatan Dharma has always been attacked by one means or another. But it is kept alive till today through various traditions as well as sacrifice of many individuals. And we call them Dharma Rakshak, who are always working towards upholding Dharma. Lord Krishna also descends on this planet in every millennium for this same purpose as stated in Bhagavad Gita-

परित्राणाय साधुनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् ।
धर्म संस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ॥

“To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to re-establish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.”- BG 4. 8 Dharma Rakshak is an initiative of International society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Nasik, for creating a united family of like-minded, dedicated & devoted members who are willing to support the upholding of Vedic principles for welfare of the society at large.

2: Why should one become Dharma Rakshak?

As mentioned above from a verse quoted from Bhagavad Gita 4.8, that Lord Krishna descends for the purpose of reestablishing the principles of Sanatan Dharma, it is also our responsibility to play our part within our capacity to help in the mission of the Lord. By this we can become the instruments in the hands of Lord Krishna as it was asked by Him to Arjuna in Gita 11.33

“निमित्तमात्रं भव सव्यसाचिन्”- O Savyasācī (Arjuna), be an instrument in the fight…

Just as when Lord Rama was building a bridge to reach to Lanka, many monkeys helped Him in his mission. Hanuman was contributing as per his capacity by bringing mountain peaks and little squirrel was also contributing in its capacity by bringing sand particles. And both equally pleased the Lord. Similarly, we all can shoulder the burden of the Lord in our own capacity by becoming a Dharma Rakshak.
